Employment Physicals
Pre-employment physicals are becoming an increasingly important component of the hiring process for many businesses. Pre-employment physicals can help employers determine proper placement of employees and reasonable accommodation of qualified applicants.
Kroll offers employment physical exams to help employers:
- Manage future risks and set a foundation for prevention procedures
- Help to determine proper placement of employees and reasonable accommodation of qualified applicants
- Promote workplace safety
What We Do
Requiring potential new hires to submit to pre-employment physicals establishes employees’ medical condition at their date of hire, creating a medical and legal information base. An employee’s inability to properly perform his or her job functions increases the risk of injury not only to the individual, but also poses a risk to fellow employees and the general public. Pre-employment physicals promote workplace safety benefiting the company, the employees tested, co-workers, and the public.
Physical exams enable employers to make reasonable accommodations for an employee, relocate the employee to a more suitable position (if available), or reconsider their offer of employment.
Kroll’s employment physical exams assess medical conditions that may affect employees’ ability to safely perform their job requirements and help determine if employees can perform the essential functions of the job with or without job modifications. If the job will place the employee and/or others at risk of injury and reasonable accommodation cannot be made, the employer may refuse to hire the individual for the particular job. If a qualified applicant is able to perform the essential functions of another available position (with or without reasonable accommodation), the employer may offer the more suitable position.
